LX Series Selected as 2018 Money-Saving Product by BUILDINGS Magazine

(Eden Prairie, MN) – DRI-STEEM Corporation (DriSteem) is proud to announce that BUILDINGS magazine has named its LX series gas-fired humidifier as a 2018 Money-Saving Product Award winner.
The GTS® humidifier LX series (patents pending) is the most recent addition to DriSteem’s market-leading gas-fired humidifiers. The LX series has the flexibility to tackle almost any application. The LX series offers:
- Condensing design provides for highest efficiency and PVC venting: Saves money on energy costs with greater than 90% efficiency.
- Ultra-low NOx for a clean environment and to meet increasingly stringent regulations: Ultra-low nitrogen oxide emissions of under 20 ppm conform to SCAQMD (South Coast Air Quality Management District) 1146.2 air quality management standards for gas-fired humidifiers.

- Reduced installation costs: The LX series patent-pending condensing technology ensures that the flue temperature stays under 140 °F, allowing for the use of PVC, CPVC, or polypropylene flue piping which is less expensive, easier to work with than stainless steel, and can be vented through sidewalls, saving on installation costs.

- 5:1 turndown ratio for accurate humidity control: The LX series has a 5:1 turndown ratio for accurate humidity control through a wide range of load conditions, providing consistent output from low to maximum demand.

- Sensing technology that adjusts drain intervals automatically, in addition to accurately measuring water tank level: The LX series humidifiers’ electronic water level control accurately manages tank filling and draining with all water types from tap to deionized. This universal water control means that there is no need to change configurations based on water type when ordering equipment or retrofitting to fit new water sources in the field.

- Space-saving design for ease of installation and placement flexibility: All LX series humidifiers feature a small footprint for easy installation in crowded mechanical rooms, with a wall mounting option for 50 and 75 lbs/hr models for even more placement flexibility. For installing outdoors, there is a climate-controlled outdoor enclosure option available.

Project Installatie Ultrasorb stoomverdeelsysteem type MP

DriSteem Belgium realiseerde samen met het studiebureel F4PE en projectmanagement M+W Group bij Sanofi/Genzyme te Geel de bevochtiging van een Robatherm Make up Air Handling unit met een totaal luchtdebiet van 24300 m³/h. De uitvoering van het project verliep via Cofely Engie.

Deze lucht wordt aangewend voor verse lucht toevoer naar een laboruimte, waar naast de temperatuur ook de vochtigheid een zeer belangrijke parameter is.
De toe te voegen hoeveelheid vocht, onder de vorm van stoom, bedraagt 213 kg/h.

Het geselecteerde hoog efficiënte DriSteem Ultrasorb stoom verdeelsysteem type MP garandeert :

Een ultra kort stoom-lucht mengtraject (van 600 mm tot minimaal 200 mm)
Condensaatvoming wordt gereduceerd met minimaal 60% tot max 85 %
Temperatuursverhoging wordt eveneens gereduceerd met 65 % tot maximaal 85 %
Lager stoomverbruik door geringere verliezen in het condensaatmanagement.

Mysterie ontrafeld in kinderdagverblijf Bambi. Lage luchtvochtigheid probleem.

Lage luchtvochtigheid oorzaak van zieke kindjes en medewerkers in kinderdagverblijf Bambi (Beringen).

Twee winters lang kampte kinderdagverblijf Bambi met opvallend veel ziek kinderen en medewerkers. Het team van verantwoordelijke An Derijck stond voor een raadsel. Allerhande maatregelen, zoals het gebruiken van andere ontsmettingsproducten of het aanpassen van de HVAC-regeling, brachten geen zoden aan de dijk. De boosdoener bleek uiteindelijk de lage luchtvochtigheid die veroorzaakt werd door de combinatie van ventilatiesysteem D met de vloerverwarming.

RESULTS
• Maintaining required relative humidity without raising the air temperature in multiple, separately controlled paint booths.
• Keeping the customer’s operating costs down.
Evaporative humidification requires less energy than
steam humidification.

THE JOB
One of Europe’s major international airlines with their main service center in Paris, France, built an aircraft maintenance facility near the Charles de Gaulle Airport in 2015. The design called for 16 separate, isolated booths for washing, blasting, and painting aircraft components. With the addition of giant ovens, the facility would be fully equipped to strip and repaint the entire fuselage, wing, and tail sections of commercial jets.
The airline stated, "The new premises must be a centerpiece in ease of use, power efficiency, and reliability. These are the key requirements of this concept."
Headquartered in Belgium, Sima is an international leader in the manufacture and distribution of painting and drying booths for aeronautical, industrial, and automotive applications. Sima's experience in these areas gives them a reputation for designing quality systems with proper ventilation and optimum temperature and humidity, all of which are critical for surface preparation, curing time, and coat adhesion. Sima’s reputation won them the job — all prep booths, paint booths, ovens, and paint mixing rooms in the facility.

THE CHALLENGE
Sima technical manager, Luc Demolder, had a challenge: Find a humidification system large enough for the job, capable of tight relative humidity control, and able to humidify without adding heat to the airstream. Demolder contacted DriSteem European sales manager Marc Briers.
Briers explained how Demolder knew about DriSteem. "Luc and I crossed paths on previous jobs, and he remembered that we can efficiently humidify without heat gain. I knew that our high-pressure system was a sure candidate for the airline’s new facility."

THE SOLUTION
Briers and Demolder worked on a design that incorporates multiple DriSteem high-pressure systems into the facility. Five high-pressure pump stations supply pressurized reverse-osmosis water to dispersion grids in five, separate air
handlers. Hundreds of atomizing nozzles in the dispersion grids break the water into ultra-fine particles (10 microns or smaller).
The atomizing nozzles are located downstream from gas-fired burners that are used in each air handler to preheat air entering the booths. These burners are able to provide all the heat necessary for evaporation. Because heat from the air is used for evaporation, the high-pressure systems add no heat to the airstream.
The facility has been operational since the winter of 2015. DriSteem is proud to play a critical role in a challenging design for Sima, among of the top ten paint and drying booth suppliers in Europe, and the largest supplier in the Benelux region.
